OK ... Jul. 19th, 2004 @ 01:20 pm
So I changed my livejournal name. I added some people to the new friends list (the new journal is friends only ... sorry). If you would also like to be added, feel free to comment. Otherwise ... adios! ;-)

Finally... Jul. 16th, 2004 @ 01:21 am
It's been awhile since I've updated. I guess I just haven't had anything worthwhile to discuss. Let's see ...

Last night, Jennifer came over since her family's electricity was out. We stayed up pretty late just chatting online and stuff. It was fun.

I've been watching Ken Jennings on Jeopardy -- that guy is absolutely amazing!! I really hope he keeps winning. It definitely brings a lot of excitement to the show.

Work has been alright, I guess. The place is invested with mice, so that's definitely not cool. Donetta, one of my co-workers, went into the main office and beat the crap out of this mouse in an oreo bag ... :-/ It was so disgusting. I can't believe I'll only be working there for a few more weeks. I've grown attached to the kids, and I'm really going to miss them.

So I got my housing information today ... I got a triple room, dun dun dun. I'm not exactly sure what to think about it. One of my roommates is from Illinois and the other lives around Gary, IN. I hope they're nice guys.

Saturday ... YAY ... Jennifer, Ashley, and I are going to Holiday World! We will more than likely stay with my friend, Jerome, up there. I'm really looking forward to that. Spending yesterday with Jennifer made me realize how much I'm going to miss her. Things are more than likely never going to be the same, but I guess I'm just going to enjoy being here for this last month.

Well, I guess that's really about it. I'll try and update more often. ;-)

BTW -- everyone seriously needs to check out Kelly's new song, "Breakaway". :-D

What an uneventful, yet relaxing day! I slept until three today. My parents got a hotel room yesterday, so it was just me, Jacki, and Chris. After she got off work, we all went and ate Denny's. Somehow our order didn't get into the kitchen, so we got our salads, drinks, and if we wanted, desserts free. It was great! When we got home, we all played Karaoke Revolution .. oh, so close to losing for the first time, but I still managed to win both games :-)

I've been spending way too much time online, but I just really haven't felt like doing anything. I'm ready for school to start. Summers, other than the rest, don't do much for me. I like staying busy. I like the pressure of getting a paper written in one night. Weird, I know ... but that's just me.

Sometimes at night I am struck by sudden glimpses of the past. I'm not exactly sure what causes them to arise ... probably because my mind tends to wander just before I fall asleep.

I miss these times.. )

See, I've been scanning a lot of pictures. This is Jennifer and me, and looking at this picture makes me really sad. I really just miss spending time with her, and, more importantly, I miss the amazing friendship and connection we used to have. Sure, we're still friends and all, but it's just nothing like it used to be.

Maybe I'm learning a valuable, important lesson ... the one that says that people evolve, feelings change, and ultimately that nothing lasts forever. I hope that one day I'll be able to understand, but as of now I just miss my best friend. I miss the excitement on her face when I'd come over. Instead, now it's like ... "Oh, you're here ... Can't go anywhere, I'm waiting for Ashley to call." It's like ... when they're together, I'm almost completely out of the picture. Jennifer and I never spend time alone unless they're not together, but yet when she's having problems I'm right there to help her out. Maybe I'll understand this whole mess one of these days...

When I was younger, someone shared the following poem with me. As I was looking through my old hard drive, I came across it. It really touched me:

If you can keep your head when all about you
are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you.
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
or being hated, don't give away to hating,
and yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise.

If you can dream, and not make dreams your master;
If you can think and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster,
and treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools.
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
and stoop and build'em up with worn-out tools.

If you can make one heap of all your winnings,
and risk it on one turn of pitch and toss.
And lose, and start again at your beginnings,
and never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
to serve your turn long after they are gone,
and so hold on when there is nothing in you,
except the will which say to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
On walk with kings, nor lose the common touch.
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you.
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
with sixty second's worth of distance run.
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
and which is more - you'll be a man, my son.

This weekend was great. I had such a great time!!! Ohio's an interesting state. I drove through Cincy, which was pretty neat. I definitely won't forget this weekend :-)

I'm not sure what I'm doing this week. Tomorrow I'm going to Fazoli's with Erin, Brittany, and some other people. Should be fun. I'm going there after work. Umm ... Tuesday I have to go to the dermatologist. That's always fun. Next week I think I'm going to go back to the dentist, but I doubt I'll get any more teeth pulled. I can't take that getting sick stuff. My mouth does feel better, although I was drugged up for about three days straight.

Man, I am so going to miss having my own personal space when I go to college. I can stay down here and no one will bother me -- it's great! Not sure I'll like having my roommate's friends keeping me up when I'm trying to sleep; him blaring his music and computer games; etc. Not fun, but it might not be that bad. I guess I'll have to refrain from singing really loudly. I'm excited, though.

I've done some rearranging of my schedule: Anthropology, Gender Studies, Precalculus, Music - A Living Language (although I've been informed that it's officially "A Living Hell" instead), Aerobics, Freshman Writing, and Intermediate Spanish. It'll be fun, I think.

AHHH, I'm so bored. I think I'm going to read and fall asleep... No one's online, so yeah, I'm out.
» Pain sucks...
OK -- it's 4:00 a.m. now, and I'm a higher than a kite from this pain medicine. The dentist SUCKED today. Drilling, stuff flying around in the air, YUCK! I had a wisdom tooth pulled, and OMG -- it sucks! I hope it gets better by Saturday, though, since I have plans :-) The rents are going out of town ... yay!

I've been doing really well lately, and nothing too exciting has been going on. Finally getting my student loans taken care of, so that's good. I bought a printer / scanner / copier today for only $90! I have to get a USB cable tomorrow, though.

I've been watching quite a bit of tennis lately, and Venus Williams just doesn't seem like the same player she used to be. I'm not really sure why, either. AHH, I miss Martina Hingis sooo much! It was cool getting to hear her commentate in the studio, though.

I guess I'm going to try and get some sleep. I'm getting ready to change my livejournal name like I changed s/n. Let me know if you want me to add you. If not, well, oh well :-) Later everyone!

Alright, so, I have to go to work in a couple hours. We're closing down July 30, so that gives me rougly three more paychecks. I'm really going to try not to spend too much, too. I know I will need all of the money I can get in the fall.

I gave my Jennifer my old computer. I mean, it was just sitting around, so I figured she would like having a decent computer ... figured it needed to be of use to someone.

So today after work my co-workers are coming over to play some Karaoke Revolution and eat queso. THEY ARE SO MUCH FUN! I always take my friend, Sharon, home after work every day. She's a cool chick. Tomorrow, we are all going swimming at Atlantis. It should be fun.

Ahhh, I'm SOOO ready to go away to college. I'm tired of seeing the same people and everything. This area just bores the heck out of me now. I feel as if I've seen everything there is to see. I've already met some amazing people at Butler, and I can't wait to meet even more. Honestly, I want to fully erase any ties I have with Southern Indiana / Louisville, other than my family, close friends, and the select few with which I actually want to remain in touch. I just want to forget everything about this place, and I don't want anyone to be able to get in touch with me. I'm going to change my screen name, livejournal name, phone number, etc. I just want another fresh start. It was a great feeling changing schools my senior year ... I loved that the fact that I could be judged without any preconceived notions.

Haha, I just deleted about 100 people from my buddy list. It feels great. It really does. You know what else is great? Running at night! I love it! I've been running around 10:00 or so. It feels so good outside. It's a perfect time to run considering I go to bed at 2:00 a.m. Alright, I'm going to chat with some Indy buds and then get ready for work. Later.
» OK, Jennifer says to update ...
Ah, I've been having a good time. Jenn and I have been hanging out a lot. We went out to eat with ummm, some friends the other night. It was an alright time. Kinda not. Oh well. After that, we took a random trip to Indianapolis. We stayed at Butler with Bryan. Jenn was really upset for a few reasons, so I consoled her the next morning. The next day we went and ate at Denny's, and then made our way home. Yesterday I finished writing all of my "thank you" cards. I didn't have that many to do, though.

Today -- Work went well. We didn't have too many kids, so that was good. I just burned an American Idol 3 CD -- Diana, Jasmine, LaToya, Jennifer, etc. This will be fun to jam to in the car :-)

I really wish I had more to write, but I think this is it unfortunately. I've been chatting with some cool people online. Hopefully we can hang out in the fall :-) Only 15 days until Diana's single comes out. OK, well, I guess that's it. Are you happy, Jennifer? ;-)

So I have spent the majority of my night getting the songs I lost when I got the new computer. I'm sure I could have someone install the old hard drive as a slave, but I don't want to take any chances on it messing up something.

This weekend was a lot of fun, although everything seems like a blur. When Bryan got here, Jennifer was with me, and we drove around so I could show him Louisville and stuff. We ended up going to eat at Ramsi's, and it was pretty good despite this NASTY salad we ordered. Yuck, it was like eating grass, but I felt bad and ate it anyway. Haha, Jenn wasn't so nice, though.

When we got done eating, I took Jennifer back to her car, and Bryan and I went to Heather's. We rented "Monster" ... a very creepy movie indeed. I'm not going to go into detail, but I recommend that everyone see it. It's based on a true story, so that makes it even better. Overall, though, it was a great weekend. It was good hanging with Bryan again. I might go up there this weekend, but I'm not really sure yet. We'll have to see.

Absolutely nothing happened today: woke up at 12:30, went to work (only four kids ... it was great), and came home. Jackie and I just went and got us all Taco Bell not too long ago, and here I am. I watched WB Superstar USA tonight, and although I do think the show is entertaining, I feel very sorry for them all. It's unfortunate that we all enjoy seeing people getting humiliated in front of millions... Sadly, I guess I am one of them, huh?

So I have to pull for one of the two finalists ... GO DIANA! I'm excited that she has a single coming out, particularly since it has "Don't Cry Out Loud" on it. The girl definitely has a powerful voice. I didn't know she was a finalist on last year's America's Most Talented Kid or Miss Teen Georgia. It's evident the girl was going to make it someday, somehow. Fantasia, however, needed to win the show, I think. Worked out well, I guess ... well, if LaToya gets a contract :-)

Man, I'm bored. Nothing exciting has been going on at all. I'm itching to go to college -- I can't wait! I am, however, enjoying spending time with my family and friends before I go. OK, I'm going to chat some more online. Bye-bye!
» YAY
Bryan's coming down in two hours! I'm really, really excited! I'm not entirely sure what we're going to do, but I'm sure we'll have fun nonetheless. Jenn's going with me to meet him, and then he and I are staying the night with Heather. Hmm, what else has been going ...

Oh, I went to KT's the other night with Jennifer, David, and his friend. It was good seeing him again. He's a good guy. After that, I just went back to Jennifer's and talked to her mother about practically everything. Oh well -- it was fun.

Jenn and I are really bored. We're just sitting here downloading music. Oh well ... hopefully these two hours will fly by. Alright, I'm going to clean the room and get ready. :-D
» Work
Ughh, so Greater Clark is taking over the daycare, which means I won't have a job come August 1. I mean, I will be going to school shortly thereafter anyway, but I still bad for the co-workers, people who NEED the jobs. Oh well. I guess that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes.

I got my new computer yesterday, and I absolutely love it!!! I almost feel like a new person :-D Other than that, nothing has really been going on. I've really enjoyed having Chris around the house; I really missed him.

I'm trying to get my schedule changed. I really want to take a higher level math because, well, I need a bit of a challenge, and I don't want to sell myself short. If I can get it changed I won't have class until 11:00 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I also have to take an aerobics PE class. Yeah, that will be interesting, haha.

I guess that's it. I really need to get my hair cut soon. It's looking so ragged, and no matter how hard I try I am a short-hair kinda guy. I'm going to hop in the shower. Hopefully I can get into something fun this week -- I need some excitement!

Chris is home now -- YAY! I'm so thankful. We just have to keep him well :-)

Went to Clarksville's graduation today. There was a tornado warning, so there was an abrupt breaking of the ceremony. In fact, it happened right in the middle of Adam's valedictory address ... poor guy. I did enjoy seeing all of my friends again and wishing them all luck. It was a very bittersweet experience, to say the least. After graduation, I went to Jacklyn's graduation party, ate some food, and came home. That's about it, really.

Yesterday I took Jennifer out to eat to celebrate graduation. We went to Appleby's and ate SOOO much. It was great ... like old times. After that, we all went to Jocelyn's graduation party where I, yet again, ate soooo much food. I probably gained 10 pounds this weekend. Oh well. Diet part II officially starts tomorrow :-)

Bryan is coming down in two weekends, so I'm looking forward to that. Heather said we could chill at her place. Good times. I'm going to try to talk her into going with us (Bryan, me) to Courtney's party that Saturday. That'll be a fun weekend. Bryan's definitely a cool, cool guy. Can't wait to hang out with him again!

OH! I refuse to go into detail, and only Jennifer, Ashley, and I know what I'm talking about. Just leaving a little footnote so I can look back and remember last night:

2:00 a.m. ... picnic table ... "fierce" ... HAHA! Man, what was I thinking? Oh well, you only live once :-)

So it looks like I might actually get to go to an American Idol concert! They are touring in Indianapolis on August 1, and Branson said I might be able to go with him! Man, I will be going nuts for LaToya! I'll make signs and everything!

OK, I'm tired. Hasta!
» Boredom
Ugh, I am so bored. There's nothing to do! I drove to Butler Wednesday night because I had nothing to do. I met Bryan and Drew, went to dinner, and watched American Idol. OK, Fantasia won ... my prediction was wrong. I had to drive back in VERY bad weather. It rained approximately for an hour and a half -- it was absurd, especially with all of the big trucks, scary, scary. I did have a good time, though.

Yesterday, Jennifer and I hung out. It was good spending time with her again. We went monitor shopping. My new monitor is soooo neat! I just gotta' get the new computer and I'll be set! Jenn got some awards, and I'm really proud of her. :-) The weather was so bad last night. In fact, my basement has gotten wet the past two nights, which hasn't been good times. I also went and saw my brother last night. He seems to be doing better, although he has to have a heart transplant. I believe they are moving him to Jewish Hospital soon.

I don't know if I wrote this earlier or not, but I got in trouble at work a couple days ago. Apparently a parent got upset when I said "shut up" and "crap". Haha, that's probably as offensive as my language is. I mean, I don't cuss at all, so I have to use those border-line words on a regular basis. Oh well, I guess I just have to be careful as to what I say.

Man, does anyone else hate it when you like someone but they don't even know you're alive? It's like ... you think they do sometimes, but other times you think otherwise. I've just been so confused about some things lately. I JUST HATE BEING CONFUSED! I guess the best thing to do is not worry about it and let things take care of themselves. Haha, that's easier said than done, though. As much as I don't want to say this ... I don't think the feelings are mutual ... :-/

So it's Friday night and I'll give you three guesses as to what I'm doing tonight ... Pretty pathetic ...
» Let's hear it for the grad ... :-)
David Hatton is FINALLY out of high school!

Just bought Tamyra's album ... good, good stuff. AI final is on tonight. I'm getting a NICE computer for only $200. My neighbor is building one for me. I'm going to buy a monitor later on in the summer. My graduation party went really well. I definitely had a good time seeing my family and stuff.

I'm just hanging out before I have to go to work. Well, I guess that's it. I can't believe I'm done with high school. It's a very strange feeling, but I didn't get sad or anything. Clarksville's graduation is this coming Sunday, and I plan on going.

I'm back on the diet. I've been running a lot with my MP3 player. I want to lose 15 more pounds, so I've got to get cracking again. Alright, I'm going to clean my room and head to work. Bye-bye!
» Graduation ...
is tomorrow. What the heck? I just can't believe high school's over. Yesterday was Senior Farewell, and it just didn't really mean that much to me. I did get the Prettiest Handwriting superlative, though ... yeah, anyway, haha. I don't regret coming to Providence at all, but I do miss some of my close friends I had gone to school with for so many years. The experience at Providence is irreplaceable, though ... I just wish I could walk down the aisle with Jennifer, Yolanda, and all of my other Clarksville friends. Oh well -- I think a lot of them are coming to my party tomorrow, so that will be cool.

So Chris is having a pacemaker put in his heart on Monday. Man, this stuff is crazy, and it's hard because there's nothing I can really do ... except pray and hope for the best.

Well, I'm really looking forward to my party, though. My parents bought all of this food ... mmmmmm. I watched Legally Blonde with my Mom last night. She really liked it, too! Great, great movie. I couldn't believe it was on Fox!

Alright, so it's down to Diana and Fantasia. Well, I think Diana has the better voice, although it isn't as good as LaToya's. I just think Diana is fake. I don't think she's in the same league as Clay and Kelly. If someone doesn't think Kelly is better than Diana, they should download Kelly's rendition of "One Voice" and compare it to Diana's. Not even close.

I have grown to like Fantasia's personality a little bit. I just don't like her voice!!! I realize it's very distinct and different, but it just isn't very polished. I'm sorry, but her rendition of "The Greatest Love of All" wasn't very good despite what the judges said.

Last year I was a Trenyce fan and Clay fan, and when Trenyce got booted I rooted for Clay. In the first season I actually liked Christina Christian, and then started following Kelly. This year is just different. I don't think Diana or Fantasia have what Clay and Kelly both have, but one of them will be the next American Idol nonetheless. Prediction: Diana Degarmo.

Started bleaching my teeth last night ... 13 days to go ... ;-)
